RIYADH: The Ministry of Education is scheduled to hold in Riyadh at the beginning of next month the first Conference on Total Quality in Public Education. Under the patronage of King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the conference seeks to produce feasible and efficient means of restructuring education through clear educational policies. In its three sessions, the conference will look at education in advanced countries and its quality as certified by organizations like the International Bank and the European Commission, focus on three nations noted in particular for high quality education, and also discuss three winning ideas from a Google contest on improving the quality of education and the role of students. Discussions will also cover main influencing factors on quality in education already contained in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' project for the development of public education, as well as improving primary to secondary school learning abilities and Ministry of Education initiatives.
