CPC grants scholarships in field of architecture

Dr. Haifa Jamal Al Lail (right), Dean of Effat University, commends Dr. Faysal Alaquil, CPC Director of Business Development.JEDDAH: Effat University honored recently the winners of the Department of Architecture Faculty of Engineering Scholarship Program for academic year 1431/1432, submitted by Construction Products Holding Company (CPC).
Under this grant, for duration of five years, CPC will provide scholarships for female students, along with the unique opportunity for hands on experience in CPC's factories where they will learn about the working environment revolved around the field of architecture and to identify the raw materials produced from these plants. It also will provide students the opportunity to train in prestigious architectural and engineering offices in both Egypt and Qatar.
In order to qualify for the scholarships, students must possess a high grade point average, and maintain this throughout the duration of the scholarship, along with other criteria's that have been specified by the University.
During the ceremony, Dr. Haifa Jamal Al Lail, Dean of Effat University for Girls, expressed her gratitude to the University and her appreciation to CPC for its support. She also said not only has CPC provided these valuable scholarships, but has also extended their contribution in providing a fully equipped computer room which enables students to communicate with research centers and major libraries around the world. She expressed: "The support of CPC to Effat University is an example of how national companies can contribute and support the educational process and help increase the quality of education to students that otherwise would not be able to afford. She stressed the need of strong corporations to participate in the development of the educational process and contribute in providing educational tools to our students in order to keep them up to date with today's technology."
Dr. Mervat El-Shafie, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Effat University, said the scholarships provided by CPC to students, have enriched their program with the unique opportunity of providing their students with not only financial assistance but to experience their field of study in an actual working environment through training in their numerous factories.
Dr. Faysal Alaquil, CPC Director of Business Development, said "the scholarships we provide for the students of the Department of Architecture Faculty of Engineering, is a part of our social responsibility to serve the nation. We feel we must contribute to the education of our sons and daughters, and help them advance in their educational careers."
He said "we chose the Department of Architecture Faculty of Engineering because of the proximity of specialization with the field of work with our company, and due to our previous cooperation with Effat University, where we organized training sessions for numerous students for training in the field of engineering design with prominent engineering offices in Cairo."
He added that "we are happy to be always a keen supporter of the educational process in the Kingdom, especially in the field of engineering which is the key tool of knowledge in developing our country. We will continue to cooperate with the University of Effat in the future and support their continuous efforts to provide the highest level of education for girls, especially with the important role women are capable of offering in Saudi Arabia in order to serve their country and its progress."
