DAMMAM: The Ministry of Labor is to introduce a ban on persons working in open areas exposed to sunlight next summer. The ministry has asked all companies to make the necessary arrangements to prevent workers conducting their duties in sun-exposed places from July to August, and called for strict compliance with the ministerial ruling issued last June. The ministry also called upon the chambers of commerce and industry to help promote awareness of the dangers of working while exposed to sunlight during the summer. Last summer temperatures exceeded 50 degrees centigrade in some parts of the Kingdom leading to reports of laborers suffering from sunstroke.
