RIYADH: Newcomer Alinma team, mentored by Jojo de Silva, and ace Fareed Aquino, playing with Royal Archer - Reloaded team captured the Best Team and Best Bowler of the Week awards respectively in the 2nd week of the Almarai Company Saturday League, 10th Conference. The league is organized by the Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR) and being held at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC). The heroics of Abdulrahman Ahmed and one-time perfect 300 holder, Ely Fanugao, rocked the lanes to help Alinma demolish Bowling Buddies by posting a towering 24 points against 2. It won Alinma the coveted Best Team of the Week award. At the center stage was Alinma's head Abdulrahman, a Class C player and equipped with 20 handicaps, who fired a four-game series of 951. Abdulrahman scored a game high of 278 in the third game to join the FBGR 260 club members. For his feat, he will receive a personalized FBGR jacket which will be awarded during the prize-giving of the league. Next to Abdulrahman was the bankable Ely Fanugao, a Class A player and with 6 handicaps, who scored 910 points on lines of 189, 244, 210 and 243. Alinma's remaining players who submitted the best scores were Jess Ambon (873), Roberto Mata (718) and Bernie Torres (552). Dahlia Al-Nasleh led in Bowling Buddies by tallying a four-game series of 723. Cynthia Bacala, Wilson Bacala and Wilson Bacala Jr. followed contributed separate series of 674, 604 and 594 respectively. Angelo Train chipped in 329 series while Nelson Sakiwat had 185 in one game outing. Royal Archer-Reloaded captained by Rodel Molina rolled past SABB-Advance, 22-16 at the expense of the Week's Bowler holder, Fareed Aquino. Unstoppable Aquino, a Class O player, posted an impressive four-game series scratch of 1,003 points. He carded 256, 267, 255 and 225. Next came Fathi Abdulaziz (849), Ray Panlaqui (818) and Molina (795). Doy del Moral added 737 points. For the SABB-Advance, Yasser Mohammad led by knocking down 838 points and he was followed by Marvin Arocena (831), team captain Allan Ofreneo (830) and Jojo Paciano (801). Francis Guron registered 554 series in three games. In another match, defending champions Eraserheads scored 24-7 victory against the MV Mixers. Benito Santos and Edwin Atienza led in Eraserheads by posting separate series of 847 and 807. Willy Nogoy and Jojo Gabriel delighted too by scoring 791 and 769. Ronald Bautista and Jhun Macarandan had separate series of 417 and 364 in two games. Topscoring in MV Mixers was Chito Llagas with 824 points and coming next were Rocky Manipon (703), Larry Mondoy (691), Edgar Buenaventura (682) and Benny Mondoy (546). Noli Ritual added 164 in one game.
