Shabab and Al-Nasr Friday sacked their coaches following poor results in the Zain Saudi Premier League. Al-Shabab said it has reached a mutual agreement with its coach Uruguayan Jorge Daniel Fossati to end his contract. Former Italian goalkeeper Walter Zenga was sacked as coach of Al-Nasr. Shabab had hired Fossati in July to manage the club for one season. The coach succeeded in taking the team to the semifinals of the Asian Champions League 2010 where it was beaten by eventual champion Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma of South Korea. Shabab has played 14 matches in the league this season, winning seven matches, drawing four and losing the remaining three. According to Shabab President Khaled Al-Balttan, Fossati is a big name in coaching and the players learned a lot from him. Al-Balttan, however, said that Fossati was not lucky enough for the club. “We wish him the best,” he added. The decision comes following Shabab's 1-0 loss to host Al-Ittifaq in a Zain Saudi Professional League match. With two matches in hand, the team is fifth on standings with 25 points. Shabab is expected to name Fossati's replacement in the near future. Argentinean Enzo Hector is the most likely replacement. On Thursday, Al-Ittihad's Portuguese coach Manuel Jose resigned after finding it difficult to deal with the players. The team failed to record a win in the last eight encounters. Zenga - a member of the Italian side that reached the 1990 World Cup semifinals when Italy hosted the tournament - had guided Al-Nasr to the top of the Saudi championship but recent results had seen it slip to second. Zenga - who won two UEFA Cups and a Serie A title during his time as Inter Milan goalkeeper - had accrued considerable previous coaching experience in the United States, Romania, Serbia and Turkey before managing Sicilian Serie A outfits Catania and Palermo.
