Published in The Saudi Gazette on 22 - 12 - 2010

PITTSBURGH: Evgeni Malkin tied a career high with five points as the Pittsburgh Penguins smashed the Phoenix Coyotes 6-1 in the NHL Monday.
Malkin, who had three goals in two games since returning from missing four contests due to a knee injury, had two goals and three assists - all within the first 27:21 of the game.
His five points matched the most by any player this season, becoming the sixth player to achieve the feat.
Sidney Crosby extended his scoring streak to 21 games while Kris Letang had a goal and an assist for Pittsburgh.
Crosby's point streak is the longest in the NHL this season and one short of the longest since the 2004-05 lockout.
Panthers 5, Flyers 0: In Philadelphia, Tomas Vokoun earned his fourth shutout of the season to help Florida easily beat league-leading Philadelphia.
Rookie Evgeny Dadonov had a goal and an assist, while Bill Thomas, Shawn Matthias, Mike Santorelli and Dmitry Kulikov also scored for the Panthers.
The Flyers lost in regulation for the first time since Dec. 1.
Vokoun made 26 saves for his 42nd career shutout and first against the Flyers in 17 starts.
Ducks 3, Bruins 0: In Boston, Jonas Hiller stopped 45 shots for his second shutout of the season as Anaheim defeated Boston.
Brandon McMillan had his first career multipoint game, while Lubomir Visnovsky and Corey Perry also scored for the Ducks.
McMillan, a rookie, doubled his career totals with one goal and one assist. He gave the Ducks the lead less than 6 minutes in.
Canucks 3, Blues 1: In St. Louis, Aaron Volpatti scored his first career goal as surging Vancouver beat St. Louis.
Ryan Kesler had his fourth in three games and Jeff Tambellini scored a late power-play goal for the Canucks, who improved to 9-11 in their past 11 games.
Alex Steen scored for the Blues, his third goal in two games this season against the Canucks.
Lightning 5, Hurricanes 1: In Tampa, Steven Stamkos scored his 26th goal this season and the 100th of his career, leading Tampa Bay past Carolina for its fourth straight victory.
Stamkos had one of three Lightning goals late in the second period that put Tampa Bay ahead 5-1. The center's milestone goal came in his 194th NHL game. Dominic Moore, Martin St. Louis, Randy Clark and Sean Bergenheim also scored for the Lightning.
Thrashers 6, Maple Leafs 3: In Toronto, Tobias Enstrom had two goals and two assists to help Atlanta down Toronto.
Wild 4, Flames 1: In St. Paul, Minnesota, Martin Havlat had a goal and an assist in Minnesota's win over Calgary.
