Draw made for Crown Prince Cup

JEDDAH: Draw for the Crown Prince Cup, 2010-2011, was made at the Conferences Hall at Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Olympic Complex in Riyadh Tuesday.
The second most important domestic competition will kick off on Feb. 1, 2011. The draw was attended by Prince Sultan Bin Fahd, President, General Presidency of Youth Welfare (GPYW) and Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, along with Prince Nawaf Bin Faisal, Deputy President, GPYW and Vice Chairman,SAFF.
The 16 teams were first divided into four groups: The first four in the 2009-2010 season; Al-Hilal (Champion), Al-Ittihad, Al-Nasr and Al-Shabab, respectively. Al-Wehdah, Al-Ahli, Al-Hazm and Al-Fateh, which occupied the second four teams on the standings of the same season, came in another group. The last four teams on the standings of that season – Al-Ittifaq, Al-Qadisiyah Al-Ra'id and Najran – figured in the third group while Al-Faisal, Al-Ta'awon, Al-Riyadh and Hajr, which qualified from the lower divisions, came in the last group. After that, the draw for round 16 of the competition was made.
The results came as follows:
Group A: Al-Ittihad, Al-Ta'awon, Al-Fateh and Al-Ittifaq.
Ittihad will host Al-Ta'awon while Al-Fateh will host Al-Ittifaq.
Group B: Al-Shabab, Al-Ra'id, Al-Wehdah and Al-Faisali.
Shabab will host Ra'id, while Wehdah will host Faisali.
Group C: Al-Nasr, Al-Qadisiyah, Al-Riyadh will host Al-Hazm.
Nasr will host Qadisiyah while Riyadh was decided to host Hazm.
Group D: Al-Hilal, Najran, Al-Ahli and Hajr. Champion Hilal will host Najran while Hajr will host Ahli.
The matches of the16th round will be played on Feb. 1, 2 and 3 (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). The quarterfinals are scheduled to be played on Feb. 16 and 17 (Wednesday and Thursday) while the semis will be played on March 10 and 11 (Thursday and Friday).
30 players selected
Prince Sultan Bin Fahd, President, General Presidency of Youth Welfare (GPYW) and Chairman, Saudi Arabian Football Federation, approved Tuesday the names of the players of the national team, which will start a preparatory camp for the Asian Cup 2011 which will be held in Qatar on Jan. 7-29.
The players are: Waleed Abdullah, Mabrouk Za'id, Abdullah Al-Enezi, Mohammed Eid, Hussein Shai'an, Abdullah Shuhail, Hasan Mo'ath, Ahmed Ottaif, Abdu Ottaif, Nassir Al-Shamrani, Misha'al Al-Saeed, Hamad Al-Montasheri, Manaf Abu Shugair, Osama Al-Harbi, Saud Kariri, Sultan Al-Numari, Naif Hazzazi, Ahmed Al-Furaidy, Mohammed Al-Shalhoub, Osama Hawsawi, Abdul Aziz Al-Dousari, Nawaf Al-Abed, Mohammed Al-Sahlawi, Ibrahim Ghalib, Yassir Al-Qahtani, Kamel Al-Mousa Mohammed Musa'ad, Moa'taz Al-Mousa, Tayseer Al-Jassim and Mohanned Aseeri.
The selected players will assemble in Riyadh on Dec. 24 to undergo medical examinations. Two days later, the team will travel to Dammam where the camp will be held. During the camp, the national team is scheduled to play three friendly matches against Iraq, Bahrain and Angola. The team will head to Doha on Jan. 6.
