JEDDAH: Saudi Arabian Airlines announced Tuesday that it has resumed its flights from Heathrow Airport in London to the Kingdom after its phased reopening following a suspension of flights due to bad weather. The airline will provide all services necessary to ease travel procedures for its passengers at Heathrow, said Prince Fahd Bin Abdullah, assistant minister of Defense and Aviation for Civic Aviation. A highly qualified team will be stationed at Saudia counters in Heathrow to handle flight operations, under direct supervision of Khalid Al-Mulhim, the airline's director, Prince Fahd said. Heathrow, Europe's busiest airport, was closed Sunday and flights were cancelled as London was hit by some of the heaviest snow there in decades.The airline is “working hard to ensure a safe and quick return of all its confirmed passengers to the Kingdom,” said Abdullah Al-Ajhar, director of Saudia Public Relations. “We will operate our flights from London whenever allowed by the Heathrow Airport authorities. Saudia was forced to cancel five flights from Heathrow to Jeddah and Riyadh. Two flights from Jeddah and Riyadh to London have been rerouted to Frankfurt, where passengers were provided transportation and hotel accommodation for three days.
