JEDDAH: Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA) announced Monday it has suspended all its flights to London because of poor weather conditions in the United Kingdom. The national air carrier had on Sunday stated that its flights to London were to be rescheduled to Monday. However, the airline announced on Monday that it would not fly to London until the weather conditions change. A source at the national carrier pointed out that SMSs were sent to concerned passengers to notify them about the delays. Passengers can call 9200-22-222 for more information. The source told Saudi Gazette that SAA follows strict safety measures and never operates flights in such bad weather. He said Saudia will resume regular flights to its domestic and international destinations once the weather changes. Earlier this week in Britain, national carrier British Airways scrapped all flights at the country's two busiest airports serving London. Low-cost carrier easyJet also cancelled all flights from Gatwick, Europe's eighth-busiest passenger airport. Elsewhere, Southampton Airport in southern England was closed due to the adverse weather, while flights to certain destinations from Birmingham Airport in the Midlands were also grounded. Passengers also faced disruptions at Exeter, London City, Aberdeen and Cardiff.
