JEDDAH: The Jeddah Literary Club (JLC) is trying to reach out to Saudi youth and promote culture more widely by holding an increasing number of activities at the city's sports clubs, Nabeel Zari' of the JLC's Public Relations Department has said. “We have made visits and staged various activities at both the Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli clubs, the Youth House and at the Youth Welfare office, and have given out copies of the literary club's various publications and our schedule of events,” Zari' said. “We want to attract more youth to cultural organizations and establish a genuine partnership between the JLC and sports clubs, given that they are one of the most popular places for young people.” He said that JLC visits had been thoroughly welcomed by Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli, the Youth House and Ahmad Rouzi, office manager at Youth Welfare. “They all spoke of their keenness to promote continued contact between sports and culture,” he said.
