JEDDAH: Dr. Mohammed Bin Sulaiman Al Jasser, Governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), recently visited Bab Rizq Jameel (BRJ) – a program of ALJ Community Initiatives – and was impressed by BRJ's job creation activities. He toured BRJ departments and met with department directors. Al Jasser was received at BRJ Tahlia branch by Engineer Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, chief job creator at BRJ; and Ibrahim Badawood, executive director of ALJ Community Initiatives. Badawood introduced a presentation about BRJ's job creation programs and previous years' achievements, as well as the plans for the next five years. The meeting highlighted other organizations that support BRJ's programs, such as the Saudi Credit and Saving Bank, Human Resources Development Bank, National Charity Fund, Ministry of Labor and certain private sector companies. Al Jasser said that such programs help in creating a methodology for a productive community. In the visitor's book, Al Jasser wrote, "It is a pleasure to visit BRJ. This great community work that help in increasing job opportunities and productivity is a noble deed. I pray to Allah to help all those who are working in this activity, headed by dear brother Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, and to support them for the benefit of this great country and its citizens." During the visit, the SAMA governor met with a number of beneficiaries from the training ending with employment program, and delivered some of BRJ interest-free loans to owners of small projects and productive household projects. Al Jasser was briefed about the ideas and objectives of the projects. Engineer Jameel said the visit of the SAMA Governor is a true encouragement to BRJ programs, and comes in line with the government support to community initiatives led by the private sector. The visit would certainly encourage BRJ team to increase the number of beneficiaries, he added.
