MAHAYIL ASIR: Fourteen people including seven Arab nationals were injured when three cars and a truck collided separately at a bend in the road in Hali in Mahayil Asir Friday. One passenger is believed to have suffered spinal damage. The initial accident occurred when a car carrying five Yemenis was involved in a head-on collision with another car with only a driver. They were subsequently struck by first another small car and then a truck. Civil Defense and Red Crescent rescue workers reportedly required police assistance to disperse bystanders who were obstructing rescue efforts. A medical source said some of the injured were discharged from hospital the same day. Others had broken bones and one passenger was reportedly paralyzed having suffered spinal damage.
