smoking society “Kafa” has said that its program has helped 6,000 smokers in the Eastern Province to give up the habit recently, but noted that budget constraints could force it to increase its charges. Saleh Al-Abad, the Eastern Province head of Kafa, said that 15,000 people had sought the help of its five-day give up smoking program. “They were all male, many of them young. None of them were women,” he said. The course, which Al-Abad says has an extremely high success rate, has an overall cost of SR1,200. “The person wishing to give up smoking pays SR300 and Kafa covers the remaining 900,” he said.
