TAIF: A man in Taif was astonished to see his car that he reported stolen seven years ago, and never heard of since, parked inside the police's impound area in Al-Arfaa district. Naif Al-Sumairi, the owner, said he spotted his car by coincidence when he drove past the impound area on the highway. He pulled over and asked the officials there about his Caprice. They told him it was brought to them on Dec. 22, 2003, which was the same day it was reported stolen. “How was the car brought inside that place without officials knowing it was stolen,” he said. “The report (seven years ago) was followed by a bulletin that has been effective until Tuesday.” A Taif Police official said the car was impounded in 2003 after being involved in an accident. It would be handed over to the owner as soon as he completes required procedures, he added.
