Published in The Saudi Gazette on 15 - 12 - 2010

DETROIT: Jonathan Quick made 51 saves as the Los Angeles Kings beat the Detroit Red Wings 5-0 in the NHL Monday.
Defenseman Drew Doughty had three assists, Anze Kopitar had two goals, and Wayne Simmonds, Oscar Moller and Jack Johnson also scored for Los Angeles, which has won four straight against the Red Wings.
It was Quick's second shutout this season and 10th of his career. He stopped 26 shots in the second period.
Stars 3, Sharks 2, SO: In San Jose, Jamie Benn netted the first goal of the game and then scored again in the shootout to help Dallas beat San Jose.
Brad Richards also scored in the tiebreaker, and Andrew Raycroft stopped Ryane Clowe in the third round to give the Stars their second shootout victory in three games.
Mike Ribeiro added a goal in regulation for the Stars.
Derek Joslin scored his first NHL goal, and Clowe also found the back of the net for the Sharks. Clowe has points in five straight games.
Avalanche 7, Blackhawks 5: In Denver, Tomas Fleischmann and Matt Duchene scored one minute apart late in the third period to help Colorado rally past Chicago.
Colorado trailed 5-4 with 2:24 remaining, but Fleischmann tied it by beating screened goalie Corey Crawford. Duchene added the game winner 60 seconds later, scoring for the second time in the game.
Ryan O'Reilly added an insurance goal in the final seconds, with Crawford on the bench, as the Avalanche won their third straight game.
Brandon Yip, Paul Stastny and Cody McLeod also had goals for the Avalanche, the NHL's second-highest scoring team.
Thrashers 4, Senators 3, OT: In Ottawa, Bryan Little scored his second goal of the game in overtime to give Atlanta a win over Ottawa.
Little seized on Ottawa center Jason Spezza's no-look pass in the Atlanta zone and drove down the right side before firing a shot past Senators goalie Brian Elliott.
Dustin Byfuglien had a goal and an assist for Atlanta, which recovered from blowing a 3-0 lead. Jim Slater also scored for the Thrashers.
Flames 3, Blue Jackets 2, OT: In Calgary, Jarome Iginla's second goal of the game in overtime gave Calgary victory over Columbus.
Calgary led 2-0 less than 5 minutes in, but the Blue Jackets rallied and tied it in the third period.
After waiting over 55 minutes to receive a power play, Columbus needed only 28 seconds of its first advantage to tie the game 2-2 on Rick Nash's goal.
Brendan Morrison also scored for Calgary. Antoine Vermette added a goal for the Blue Jackets, who have lost four straight on the road after winning eight of their first nine away games.
Predators 5, Islanders 0: In Nashville, Anders Lindback made 28 saves to record his second consecutive shutout, helping Nashville down New York.
Patric Hornqvist had two goals for the Predators, who have won three straight. Sergei Kostitsyn, Jerred Smithson, and Nick Spaling also scored for Nashville.
The Islanders have lost six in a row and 20 of 21. They have not won a single game this season when conceding the first goal.
Swedish rookie Lindback is 4-0-1 since taking over for No. 1 Predators goalie Pekka Rinne, who is out with a knee injury.
