On the opening day J&J Bowling Idols walloped opponent with all the players scoring beyond 600 for an early hi-series with handicap record of 3,808. Guided by their star bowler Ed Sardi?a who topped the board at 650, all the J&J Idols did no wrong as captain-manager Jowet Carreon cushioned Sardi?a with 643. This star and TC show inspired Lourdes Punzalan, Mart Lising, Gerry Tano and Manny Tibay to concretely help with 635, 633, 626 and 621 that caused 1,255-1,057, 1,344-1,248 and 1,209-1,092 swept of their rivals. Dynamic Keglers attempted evading blank sheet in Game 2 with Fully Tabio and Jimmy Aragones dazzling with 237 and 216 but TC Emil Payongayong accepted the superb offense of J&J Idols to sign a 20-0 deal. Individual spectacle was exhibited by Obie Ycasas in his 702 heading of Make My Day against Mobily-Globe. The Bobby Baraquel and Edward Botardo team forced an 18-2 settlement with Voi Ycong and Nondee de Guzman squad. Joy Tan clinched the first Lady Bowler of the Week when she boosted teammates with 640 on Gulf Oil's 3,629-3,576 upset of Micah's Pride. With another superlative show of season bowler Sardi?a, Johnson & Johnson Bowling Idols recorded the first back-to-back Team of the Week via 1-pin decision at 3,672-3,671 against Make My Day. MMD was actually advantaged at 6-2 (2,552-2,490) into the last game, but when Sardi?a and Tano corroborated 475 scratch to augment the production of Carreon, Manny Tibay, Rico Nery and Evelyn Garcia for an 1,182-1,119 completion, a big surprise startled both sides. J&J Bowling Idols took 14 points while Make My Day got 6 points. Topping J&J board was Sardi?a at 686 while Leo Pangilinan did it for MMD. Individual honorees this week were Randy Mata and Eva Garcia who won the Bowler of the Week award with their respective 3-game series of 716 and 639.
