MILAN: Marek Hamsik scored the only goal of the game as Napoli defeated Genoa 1-0 in the Serie A Saturday. The win means Napoli has 30 points, keeping the pressure on the top two in the Serie A. Leading pair AC Milan and Lazio have 33 and 30 points respectively, but both play Sunday. Hamsik headed his seventh goal of the season in the 25th and caused Genoa's defense numerous problems with his runs on the left wing. Napoli had to play the last five minutes and injury time with 10 men after Michele Pazienza was sent off for a wild lunge at Omar Milanetto. Also Saturday, Udinese beat Fiorentina 2-1, while Palermo defeated Parma 3-1. Mauricio Pinilla came off the bench to inspire Palermo to the win to bring the Sicilians to within a point of the Champions League places. Alessandro Lucarelli gave Parma a first half lead but Pinilla equalized after the break and then teed up Fabrizio Miccoli to smash home the winner before Cristian Zaccardo's late own goal added gloss to the result. Palermo coach Delio Rossi said his side was still thinking about last week's last-gasp 1-0 defeat to Napoli in the first half. Villarreal slumps to defeat In Madrid, Villarreal squandered the chance to move within two points of second-placed Real Madrid when it leaked a late goal to lose 1-0 at Getafe in La Liga Saturday despite having an extra man for the whole of second half. Missing suspended Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi, Villarreal lacked its usual bite in attack and substitute Juan Albin snatched a winner for Getafe in the 89th minute after its defender Daniel Diaz had been sent off just before halftime. Uruguayan midfielder Albin, whose low shot squirmed just inside the post, was also dismissed as he celebrated the goal by removing his shirt and was shown a second yellow card. Watched by Spain coach Vicente del Bosque, the two sides canceled each other out in the first period before Getafe was rocked by the dismissal of Diaz in the 41st minute. The referee brandished a straight red card at the Argentine defender after he cut down Villarreal's pacy Brazilian striker Nilmar in full flight. The numerical advantage immediately lifted the visitors. Nilmar burst clear moments before the break but his low shot was well saved by Jordi Codina's outstretched leg. Villarreal's Spain midfielder Santi Cazorla and former international Marcos Senna saw plenty of the ball but were unable to unlock a determined home defense and Francisco Casquero's clever header set up Albin to snatch the win. Villarreal has 30 points from 15 matches, two ahead of fourth-placed Espanyol, which visits Athletic Bilbao Sunday.
