RIYADH: Motorists can now renew their drivers' licenses for two, three or 10 years, said Maj. Gen. Solaiman Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Ajlan, director of the General Administration of Traffic. Traffic authorities have coordinated with the National Data Center to activate the Council of Minister's decision, which sets the renewal fee at SR40 for each year, he said. The options have been computerized so drivers who fulfill the conditions can determine the valid period, he added The decision reflects officials' commitment to make things easier for service-seekers and serve the public interest without affecting the country's regulations, General Al-Ajlan said. Private driving licenses, which are valid for 10 years, had been valid for five years, a matter that created resentment among the service-seekers, he said.
