year-old boy was killed when he was hit by a car as he tried to cross the main Bahra Road Tuesday. Witnesses said the boy was struck by a fast-traveling vehicle and thrown onto the opposite lane in the path of oncoming traffic. The child's death led locals to voice their complaints anew at the condition of the road, which they say lacks proper lighting and other safety facilities such as pedestrian footbridges and fencing. “A lot of children have been lost on this road,” said one local resident. “Lots of people are always trying to get from one side to the other as it's a populated area and there are lots of shops on both sides.”
