2011 Lincoln MKX midsize luxury crossoverRIYADH: The 2011 Lincoln MKX midsize luxury crossover makes its regional debut at the Riyadh Motorshow 2010. The new 2011 model features industry-exclusive new technologies, world-class design and craftsmanship, and best-in-class performance. The French car manufacturer Renault also unveiled at the motorshow the latest vehicle in its lineup - the brand new Renault Safrane. Renault's luxury saloon is the latest incarnation of the Safrane, which was a success in its last guise, when it was launched in 2008, selling 2624 units in the GCC. For 2011 Lincoln MKX, three main actions contribute to its quietness from a powertrain NVH perspective. One is the more robust engine cover. Intake and exhaust systems also have been completely retuned for a crisper note corresponding to Lincoln powertrain DNA. A "tighter" torque converter reduces engine rpm on launch and tip-in events, reducing engine noise. New four-wheel disc brakes provide enhanced stopping power. Key brake system upgrades include steel pistons, larger rear rotors, revised brake friction materials, revised brake booster gain and revised pedal ratios, all of which enable more initial bite and a firmer, more confident feel when customers press on the brake pedal. In the case of the brand new Renault Safrane, it is very much akin to a relaxed and well-appointed private business lounge, offering relaxation, comfort and luxury thanks to the high standards of innovation and quality utilized in the development of the car. Renault GCC managing director Mustansir Lakdawala said: "The Renault Safrane is a flagship model for the brand, and the new model has improved upon the successes and strengths of previous models, bringing a fantastic high-end, luxury saloon to the GCC market." The Safrane is an ideal model for GCC customers, he added.
