Al-Mutary dominated the first round to finish first. The second position went to Sultan Kaylo. Hussein Al-Sharif stayed third. Al-Mutary started the race in first position after a short time trial session Wednesday night. Being at the front of the field with the threat of a penalty, Al-Mutary maintained the lead over Sultan Kaylo and Al-Sharif. Yazan Hamadh and Al-Sharbatly Sultan Kaylo finished in fourth and fifth places. By lap 25, Al-Mutary clocked 00:24:066, as Sultan Kaylo clawed his way into second (00:24:681). Al-Sharif completed the podium (00:24:903). “It was a difficult race for me,” said Abdullah Al-Mutary. “Several boats tried to jump the start and that meant both Sultan Kaylo and Hussein Al-Sharif were running behind and trying to get back to the front. It was not easy to overtake. Several boats ran out of fuel near the finish and I was delighted to be first.” On the second day, Hussein Al-Sharief managed to clinch the title from Al-Mutary clocking 23:66. Sultan Kaylo came second clocking 23:95. Al-Mutary stayed third in this round with 24:00. The race was mainly sponsored by Toyota and supported by Mobil 1 and Arab Motors. It was held under the supervision of the Saudi Committee for Motorsport and the General Presidency of Youth Welfare (GPYW). Muteb Al-Subai, Saudi Arabia Motorsport Federation (SAMSF) representative, congratulated the winners. He also congratulated Abdullah Bakhashab for the successful organization of the competition. Bakhashab, the organizer of the event, said that the karting races would give a big boost to the tourism sector in the Kingdom. __
