based Pakistani artists are holding an exhibition of their artwork to help the victims of the recent devastating floods in southwestern Pakistan. The natural disaster displaced more than two million people and severely damaged property and infrastructure. The exhibition is entitled “Perception” and will be held at the Pakistan Embassy for three days, starting from Wednesday with Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel as the guest of honor at the inaugural ceremony. The artwork displayed at the exhibition will be for sale and 50 percent of the amount generated will be donated to flood-affected people in Pakistan. The Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh has launched a mass awareness campaign to generate funds for flood victims. Funds will be raised by hosting charity dinners among members of the Pakistan community living in Riyadh. The mission is to mobilize the Pakistani diaspora to come forward and help those affected by the floods. The Embassy thanked King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for making an appeal to Saudis for donations. After King Abdullah's call for donations, Saudis responded with generosity and funds raised were used for the flood victims, according to a statement released by the Pakistani embassy. “Driven by strong desire to help their flood-affected brethren in Pakistan, five Pakistani artists have joined hands to utilize their talent for this noble cause,” the statement said. Umar Khan Alisherzai, Ambassador of Pakistan, and his wife will welcome guests on the inaugural day. The exhibition will be open to the public on Thursday between 10 A.M. and 1 P.M. and 3 P.M. and 10 P.M. It will also be open on Friday, the concluding day of the event, between 1 and 10 P.M.
