RIYADH: Intellectual security will be the main topic of discussion Saturday at the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice's (Hai'a) fifth meeting of branch directors in the Eastern Province. The meeting is aimed at developing and enriching knowledge in the domain of intellectual security. It is considered an essential element in promoting virtue and preventing vice. Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Humayyen, President of the commission, said six working papers on intellectual security will be discussed at the meeting. He added that government was exerting efforts to enhance intellectual security and preserve the country. Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Aal Al-Sheikh, the Kingdom's Grand Mufti, said security is one of the greatest graces of Allah, and cannot be achieved without the application of Islamic Shariah. Similarly, the practice of Islam's rituals also cannot be achieved without security. Intellectual security is essential and can only be achieved by applying the dictates of the Qur'an and Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him), said the Grand Mufti. He said special attention must be paid to young people to protect them from deviant views.
