RIYADH: Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, has ordered the construction of hundreds of residential units for the poor and needy in Makkah, Madina, Tabuk and Hail regions. This was announced in a statement by Prince Faisal Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Secretary General of the Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Charity Foundation. The location of the developments was decided after consultation with the Emir's Offices in Makkah and Madina. In Makkah's Al-Leeth area 200 units will be built, while another 100 units will be constructed in the region's southern villages. A total of 480 will be built. In Madina, 180 units will be built in the Annajeel-Alola area. Prince Faisal said the foundation is carrying out its social development strategy through these types of programs. Another of its programs is a SR500 million charitable housing project, which was started in 2000 and carried out in eight regions. A total of 1,626 units have been built so far.
