BARCELONA: Saudi Ambassador to Spain Prince Saud Bin Naif said that the “Roads of Arabia: Archeology and History of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” exhibition, being held in the second largest city in Spain since Nov. 12, would help introduce the history and culture of Saudi Arabia to Spaniards. Prince Saud's comment came during a press conference in Barcelona Friday as he toured the exhibition. Spanish Crown Prince Felipe was impressed by the cultural and historic value of the artifacts showcased in the exhibition when it was inaugurated, he said. The relationship between Saudi Arabia and Spain is “distinguished at all levels, including politics, economics, and culture,” Prince Saud said. The exhibition features 320 artifacts dating from the Stone Age until the present time. The works on display come mainly from the collections of the National Museum in Riyadh, the Archaeological Museum at King Saud University and regional museums. Spain has served as a cultural bridge between the Muslim World and Europe as well as with Spanish-speaking countries, the ambassador said. The exhibition is co-organized by the Saudi Embassy in Spain and the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA).
