SR700 million will be given in compensation to 740 owners of properties expropriated for constructing three pedestrian tunnels and a power generating station around the Grand Mosque in Makkah. This was announced by Mayor of Makkah Osama Bin Fadl Al-Bar on Sunday. One of the tunnels will stretch from the northern areas of Haram to Al-Otaibiyah District. The other two tunnels will stretch from the same area to Jarwal District. The electricity station is to be constructed near the vegetable market at Al-Masjid Al-Haram Street, Al-Bar said. He added that the total cost of these projects, including the compensations, is about SR3 billion. Execution of these projects will start after this year's Haj. – Okaz __
