BRAGA, Portugal: Matheus scored twice in the last seven minutes to give Braga a surprising 2-0 win over Arsenal in the Champions League Tuesday. Matheus broke clear on a counterattack in the 84th and left-footed the ball past Lukasz Fabianski, then beat three defenders to score his second in injury time. Braga's win comes after a 6-0 defeat in London two months ago and denied Arsenal the point it needed to clinch a place in the round of 16 with a game to play. Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger made seven changes from the team which surrendered a 2-0 lead at home to Tottenham in a Premier League match last weekend. Arsenal is level on nine points with Braga in second place in Group H. In London, Chelsea came from behind to clinch top spot in its group with a 2-1 victory over Slovakian whipping boys MSK Zilina. Second half goals from from Daniel Sturridge and Florent Malouda saved Chelsea's blushes at Stamford Bridge after Babtounde Bello had given Zilina a shock 1-0 lead after 19 minutes. Goals from Karim Benzema and Alvaro Arbeloa and a Cristiano Ronaldo double gave Real Madrid a crushing 4-0 win at Ajax Amsterdam and secured top spot in Group G for the La Liga giants. The boisterous Ajax fans did their best to warm up a chilly stadium and inspire their players. But the resounding loss to Real and AC Milan's 2-0 win in Auxerre dashed the Dutch club's hopes of a place in the last 16. In Auxerre, France, AC Milan reached the knockout round after a 2-0 win over Auxerre. This result guarantees Milan second place in the group as Ajax Amsterdam slumped to a 4-0 defeat against leaders Real Madrid. AS Roma brilliantly battled back from 2-0 down to beat already-qualified Bayern Munich 3-2 and boost its own hopes of reaching the last 16 knockout stage of the Champions League.
