RIYADH: King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is suffering from slipped disc, the Royal Court said in a statement Friday. “Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is suffering from back problems which doctors diagnosed as a slipped disc,” the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said. “Doctors have advised him to rest as part of his therapy,” the news agency said, adding that the announcement follows the Monarch's “principle of transparency” between him and his people. Schools, universities to reopen on Nov. 27 King Abdullah, according to another Royal Court statement, has extended the Eid Al-Adha holiday break for all government schools and universities which will now open on Dhul Hijjah 21 (Nov. 27) instead of Dhul Hijjah 16 (Nov. 22) as announced earlier.
