JEDDAH: The Jeddah Mayoralty Wednesday organized a workshop to address a number of problems related to the city's lack of cleanliness. The workshop “Deterioration of the Standard of Service in Ramadan and Eid Al-Fatr and Ways of Overcoming It” comes as the mayoralty is studying issues pertaining to cleanliness and ways to make the city cleaner, especially during Ramadan when food leftovers dramatically increase due to the rise in food consumption. Studies are also looking into reasons for the decline in cleanliness during the summer holidays and Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha break. Ali Muhammad Al-Qahtani, Deputy Mayor of Jeddah for Services, said the issue of cleanliness tops the mayoralty's priorities and that its officials are aggressively addressing the problem. He said officials at the workshop discussed the real reasons and dimensions of the lack of cleanliness in the coastal city.
