Ethiopian community celebrated its unity in diversity at its National Day last month at the Ethiopian Consulate chancery in Jeddah. In his speech Tekleab Kebede, Consul General of Ethiopia in Jeddah, said Ethiopia is culturally diverse and comparably unique. “It is one of the richest countries in the world in affluence if measured in terms of cultural diversity history,” he said. He said the Ethiopian government has carefully designed and implemented a development strategy that has led to an 11 percent annual average economic growth registered during the past five consecutive years. This achievement makes Ethiopia's economy one of the fastest growing in the African continent other than oil producing and exporting countries. During the event, Ethiopian nationals were honored and awarded certificates of appreciation for their contribution in promoting investment, trade and tourism. Saudi businessmen were urged to asses the investment potential of Ethiopia.
