Star trio sparkle for Heat
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 08 - 11 - 2010

MIAMI: Dwyane Wade had 29 points and 10 rebounds, and LeBron James scored 14 of his 23 points in the third quarter as the Miami Heat pulled away in the second half to beat the New Jersey Nets 101-89 Saturday.
Chris Bosh added 21 points for the Heat, who used a 25-10 run in the third quarter to turn a close game into a runaway and beat the Nets for the second time in a week.
James finished with nine assists.
Anthony Morrow scored 25 points for New Jersey, which lost its fourth straight after a 2-0 start. Brook Lopez added 12 for the Nets, but only six of those came in the game's final 45 minutes, and Derrick Favors added 11.
Magic 91, Bobcats 88: At Charlotte, North Carolina, Dwight Howard had 22 points and eight rebounds, and Rashard Lewis scored 22 points as Orlando withstood Charlotte's furious comeback attempt.
The Magic overcame Jameer Nelson sitting out with a sprained ankle and Vince Carter leaving the game with an injury late for their first road win of the season.
After trailing by 18 in the third quarter, the Bobcats got within 89-88 on Stephen Jackson's driving layup with 32 seconds left. Quentin Richardson then answered with a runner in the lane with 9.8 seconds to go.
Gerald Wallace had 25 points and 14 rebounds for the Bobcats.
Cavaliers 107, Wizards 102: At Washington, Mo Williams scored 10 of his 28 points in the final four minutes to lead Cleveland over Washington.
In a wild game that featured 16 lead changes and 12 ties, Williams gave Cleveland the lead for good with two free throws with 2:07 to play, making it 97-95. Daniel Gibson, who had 19 points, followed with a 3-pointer with 1:33 to play for a five-point advantage.
Al Thornton scored 23 points and Kirk Hinrich 21 for Washington. Rookie John Wall had 13 points and 10 assists.
Spurs 124, Rockets 121, OT: At San Antonio, Tony Parker had 21 points and 14 assists, including seven points in overtime, as San Antonio kept Houston winless.
The only NBA team without a victory this season, the Rockets (0-5) are off to their worst start since 1999. They might have more troubles ahead, too, after point guard Aaron Brooks was carried off the court at halftime with an injured left ankle.
Ginobili scored 28 points, and the Spurs withstood three 3-point tries by the Rockets in the frantic final 14.3 seconds of overtime.
Jazz 109, Clippers 107, 2 OT: At Salt Lake City, Deron Williams scored 30 points, making the tiebreaking layup with 6.8 seconds left in the second overtime, as Utah overcame an 18-point deficit to beat the Los Angeles Clippers.
Williams had 22 points after halftime, and Paul Millsap added 25 points and 13 rebounds. Al Jefferson finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds in Utah's 15th consecutive home victory over the Clippers.
Eric Gordon scored 27 points and his slam dunk with 6.2 seconds left in regulation tied it at 91-91.
Hornets 87, Bucks 81: At Milwaukee, David West made 10-of-12 shots and scored a season-high 25 points as New Orleans remained unbeaten with a victory over Milwaukee.
Chris Paul and Marco Belinelli each added 14 for the Hornets, who at 6-0 are off to their best start in franchise history.
Andrew Bogut had 19 points and 14 rebounds in his return to the lineup for Milwaukee after missing Friday night's game against the Indiana Pacers with a migraine. John Salmons added 14 points for the Bucks, who dropped to 2-5.
Nuggets 103, Mavericks 92: At Dallas, Carmelo Anthony scored 27 points as Denver went 13 for 21 from beyond the 3-point line in a victory over Dallas.
Chauncey Billups added 18 points and Al Harrington contributed 14 points and eight rebounds for Denver.
Jason Terry scored 26 points and Dirk Nowitzki had 23 for the Mavericks, who have lost two of their first three home games.
Blazers 97, Raptors 84: At Portland, Oregon, Brandon Roy scored 26 points, and LaMarcus Aldridge added 22 points and 10 rebounds as Portland cruised to a victory over Toronto.
Grizzlies 100, Kings 91: At Sacramento, California, Rudy Gay scored 32 points and Zach Randolph added 20 to help Memphis beat Sacramento.
Mike Conley and O.J. Mayo each had 14 points for the Grizzlies (3-4), who stopped a three-game losing streak.
