Rotana Audio Visual, chaired and fully-owned by Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, was awarded Best Media Company by Arabian Business (ITP) during the Arabian Business Saudi Achievement Awards 2008 that was held at the Four Seasons Hotel recently. The event was also attended, among others, by Nezar Nagro, president, Rotana Media Services; Salim Alhindi, president of Rotana Audio; and Walid Al-Akawi, CEO of Arabian Business (ITP). Rotana was launched in 2003 and expanded at a very fast pace. The company has now become the largest producer of Arabic music in the world and one of the largest producers of film, broadcaster of premium TV programs and entertainment channels. Rotana includes a bouquet of 7 free-to-air TV channels: Music, Clip, Tarab, Khalijiyah, Zaman, Cinema in addition to LBC and broadcasts the most up to date Arabic music and music videos to the highest aesthetic quality to its audience around the world. Rotana broadcasts to other continents outside MENA region through other channels of distribution that include DTH, Online, IPTV, Mobile and New Media. Rotana group has its own magazine, café chain and known as the only TV company to produce and also air its programs on its own channels.
