RIYADH: The Supreme Court has announced that Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, is the first day of the lunar month of Dhul Hijjah, 1431H. The court confirmed the sighting of the new moon Saturday. As such the Arafat Standing will fall on Monday, the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, corresponding to Nov. 15, says a statement issued here. According to the statement, Eid Al-Adha will fall on Tuesday, the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, corresponding to Nov. 16. More than 1.5 million Muslims from all over the world have already converged on the holy cities of Makkah and Madina in Saudi Arabia for the Haj, the world's largest annual gathering.
