Faisal, Emir of Makkah, has issued directives for formation of a working team from the Education Administration and philanthropic societies in Jeddah to execute their plan to employ Saudi graduates of Islamic Studies colleges to teach in Holy Qur'an Memorization Society schools. Prince Khaled, who met Thursday at his Jeddah office with education and Society officials, briefed them on a plan presented by the Society and the Education Administration in Jeddah to replace foreign teachers at the Qur'an memorization sessions with qualified Saudi teachers, especially graduates of Islamic Studies colleges. Prince Khaled, who met with Dr Abdullah Naseef, the Society's supervisor in Makkah Region; Abdullah Al-Thaqafi, director of Education in Jeddah; and Abdul Aziz Hanfi, the Society's chairman in Jeddah, also said the Makkah Emirate would remove any obstacles to implementing the plan to ensure the continuation of the educational process at the Holy Qur'an Memorization Society. Dr. Naseef said the Society will coordinate with the Education Administration to employ graduates of the Islamic Studies colleges to replace the Society's freelance and foreign teachers. The two organizations will work together to create training programs for the graduates, he added. Al-Thaqafi said his administration will benefit from employing the graduates, who will be selected from a waiting list of almost 1,100. The plan also raises the possibility of working with teachers employed by the Ministry of the Islamic Affairs by adjusting their work schedules so they can teach students after Maghrib (sunset) prayers, instead of after Asr (afternoon) prayers. He said he will direct the schools' principals to solve any problems that may affect the educational process. Al-Thaqafi also said he will coordinate with the Holy Qur'an Memorization Society so senior students at the volunteer services centers and district centers can help implement the plan.
