billion corruption scandal of 2009 Haj operations of Pakistan remains unattended and un-probed, said a news report. In an official report, corruption worth billions of rupees was unearthed in the 2009 Haj operation and a thorough probe was sought, but it was not done, the report published in the leading English language daily The News said. The report had revealed tales of mismanagement, incompetence and apathy, but neither was the matter referred to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) or National Accouintability (NAB) for criminal proceedings and investigation nor was any action initiated against any of the responsible officials. Submitted by a five-member official delegation, led by parliamentary secretary for religious affairs Mahboob Ullah Jan and all comprising provincial Haj and Auqaf ministers, the report found the accommodation issue the most crucial.
