MAKKAH: Over 100,300 Iranian pilgrims will perform Haj this month, said Ibrahim Nurozi, Iranian Deputy Consul General. Nurozi told Saudi Gazette Tuesday that about 76,000 pilgrims have already arrived and the remaining pilgrims are expected to arrive before Haj. “All our pilgrims are well and healthy. They are spending their time in prayers at the Prophet's Mosque in Madina and in the Grand Mosque in Makkah,” he said. “The government of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has made excellent arrangements for the pilgrims in the two holy cities and particularly at Mina, Muzdalifa and Arafat. The five-floor gigantic Jamarat Bridge speaks for itself,” said Nurozi. “I am sure that this Haj will also be a great success,” he said. Ibrahim said that the Iranian Consulate has made the necessary arrangements for pilgrims in Makkah and Madina. Buses from the Saudi Arabian Transport Company have been hired to transport pilgrims from their accommodation to-and-from the Grand Mosque. “A team of doctors and para-medical staff has already arrived from Iran to provide medical assistance to the pilgrims,” he said.
