JEDDAH: Amid the hustle and bustle of the fast-pace cosmopolitan living, executives seek a way out to unwind and reinvigorate themselves. For this reason, spa seems to be the most appropriate answer. According to research by SRI International and Intelligent, “60 percent of total spa revenue is generated through hotels in the Middle East, so hotel management will be eager to capitalize on the profit potential of spas. With increasing demands from both men and women, corporate and leisure, they can no longer be viewed as san exotic part of guest services.” In Saudi Arabia alone, more and more spa facilities are installed in five-star hotels to cater to growing demand. For instance, Park Hyatt Jeddah, offers a worldwide collection of extraordinary spas, each custom-designed to embrace the local environment and culture to provide an authentic indigenous experience. The Evania Ladies' Spa and the Seba Gentlemen's Sports and Wellness Centre offer members and guests a host of sporting, fitness, and relaxation facilities. And since its full operation last Sept. 28, the hotel's spa club has now some 169 family members, out of which 73 are most active frequenting and availing different spa services on a daily basis. Asif Raza, director of sales and marketing, Park Hyatt Jeddah, told the Saudi Gazette that membership is continuously growing, primarily from the elite families in Jeddah. For families, entry fee is SR75,000 plus SR28,500 per head for a family of six and below. For a husband and wife, membership fee is SR35,000 and SR35,000 for singles. Park Hyatt Jeddah prides itself as the only hotel in the Kingdom with spa that has an outdoor swimming pool for ladies aside from squash and tennis courts for them. Evania is a haven of serenity featuring relaxation, therapeutic and fitness facilities. The menu of traditional spa experiences, created using essential oils, thermal mud, algae and caviar, offers specific benefits to suit specific needs. Both Evania and Seba have luxury features, which include gymnasium with the latest technogym equipment, indoor swimming pools, aquamedic pools and three hydrotherapy suites and seven treatment rooms with private terraces. As the demand picks up, Raza said the club targets 750 as the maximum number of members in order to maintain the sterling services it provides.
