Several Islamic scholars and intellectuals in Egypt expressed interest in the international Islamic conference for dialogue being currently held by Muslim world league in Makkah under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz. They emphasized that the conference activities would promote the Islamic concept of dialogue, which will support the Muslim scholars to spread spirit of Islam. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Dr. Mahmoud Ashour, former undersecretary at Al-Azhar University and member of Islamic Research Assembly emphasized the importance of enhancing the gains brought about by the conference in order to uphold the word of Islam. The former head of Islamic Research City, Dr. Farhat Al-Mongi emphasized the importance of holding this conference in such circumstances and the importance of the call for dialogue with wisdom and good advice. Al-Mongi praised the patronage of King Abdullah for this conference.
