MARGAO, India: The third and final one-dayer between India and Australia Sunday was called off after steady rain over the past two days waterlogged the outfield, handing the hosts a 1-0 series win. Australia, the No. 1 ranked ODI side in the world, ended its disappointing tour of India losing both the Test and one-day series. India swept the Test series 2-0. The series had lost some sheen with top cricketers from both teams, including Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting, giving it a miss. The first match in Kochi last Sunday was also called off due to rain. India's five-wicket win Wednesday decided the outcome of the series. India next hosts New Zealand for a three Test and five match ODI series, starting next month. Sri Lanka's ODIs abandoned Sri Lanka's one-day match against New South Wales was abandoned because of rain without a ball being bowled at the Sydney Cricket Ground Sunday. It was supposed to be Sri Lanka's second warm-up match ahead of one-day and Twenty20 matches against Australia, beginning next weekend. The Sri Lankans have a Twenty20 match scheduled against NSW Wednesday. New Zealand resists changes New Zealand selectors Sunday went for continuity in a 15-man squad of few surprises which includes only two new caps for next month's tricky three-Test series in India. But they held back on naming the one-day squad as recriminations continue over New Zealand's recent 0-4 whitewash at the hands of supposed minnow Bangladesh. The two new Test players are batsman Kane Williamson and fast bowler Hamish Bennett, who were both on the Bangladesh tour. Coach and selector Mark Greatbatch said the pair deserved their step up to Test status after showing promise in Bangladesh, where Williamson scored a maiden ODI ton. Batsman Mathew Sinclair is the only player missing from New Zealand's last Test appearance, against Australia in March. Test squad: Daniel Vettori (captain), Brent Arnel, Hamish Bennett, Martin Guptill, Gareth Hopkins, Chris Martin, Brendon McCullum, Tim McIntosh, Andy McKay, Jeetan Patel, Jesse Ryder, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, BJ Watling, Kane Williamson.
