Ihram in Jeddah What is the ruling on someone who intended to perform Haj, he arrived in Jeddah airport from another country while he had not assumed Ihram? He assumed the Ihram from Jeddah. If he was coming from Ash-Sham or Egypt and the plane landed in Jeddah, then he must assume Ihram from Rabigh. He should go to Rabigh and assume Ihram there. He cannot enter Ihram from Jeddah. If he was coming from Najd and he did not assume Ihram until he landed in Jeddah, then he must go to As-Sayl, and it is the valley of Qarn, and enter Ihram from there. But if one entered Ihram from Jeddah and did not go to the Miqat (to assume Ihram), he must slaughter one sheep. That will be sufficient. He must sacrifice it in Makkah to distribute its meat to the poor people, or he may take a share (one seventh) in the sacrifice of a camel or a cow. This is to make his Haj or Umrah acceptable. Sheikh Bin Baz Fatawa Islamiyah, vol. 4, p. 91 Changing Haj type What is the ruling regarding someone who assumed Ihram for Haj and Umrah as a Qarin and then after the Umrah, he removed the Ihram? Is he considered a Mutamatti (a pilgrim performing the Tamattu type of Haj)? Yes, if he assumed Ihram for Haj and Umrah as a Qarin, performed Tawaf and Sa'ee, and cut his hair making it only Umrah, then he is called a Mutamatti. He must offer the sacrifice of At-Tamattu (type of Haj). Sheikh Bin Baz Fatawa Islamiyah, vol. 4, no. 104 __
