JEDDAH: Etihad Etisalat (Mobily), Saudi Arabia's fastest-growing telecommunications operator, will give away SR400,000 in prizes to 10 winners who roam on its network while they visit the Kingdom, the company announced on Saturday. Mobily said the competition is for visitors of the Kingdom who set their phones to roam on Mobily's network during their stay in the Kingdom. The company will carry out the draw for 10 winners after the end of the competition on Dec. 13, 2010. They will be informed through the media. This is the latest iteration of similar competitions Mobily has been conducting over the past few years, through which the company offered valuable cash and non-cash prizes. In the beginning, Mobily used to give away a prize to one winner, but in later editions the company expanded the number of winners. Mobily is in roaming deals with hundreds of operators around the world, so its users can feel at home wherever they go. Sophisticated deals guarantee that traveling Mobily users have access not only to voice calls, but to internet connectivity, video calls, MMS and many other services. Mobily has embarked on a project to help developers build mobile applications and software that support Arabic content. The program, dubbed “Mobily Developers Forum (MDF),” is set to encourage young, tech-savvy men and women to unleash their talents and develop quality applications.
