JEDDAH: An exhibition of King Khaled's private possessions has attracted more than 12,000 visitors. The display at the Jeddah Corniche includes copies of the Holy Qur'an, swords, watches, rosaries, and the radio he used in his house and on his desert trips. A tour of the exhibition by Okaz/Saudi Gazette showed that the majority of male and female visitors were not of his era. It was also noticed that they stood for a while looking at the display of 1,000 items at the Plastic Artists' House. Engineer Sami Al-Dowsari, Chairman of the Plastic Artists' House, said the exhibition is a historic event and said artists are ready to hold a plastic arts exhibition on the way of life and history of the late King Khaled. Meanwhile, Nahar Marzouq, Secretary of the House, said the historic exhibits of King Khaled are a “historical treasure” that acquaints people with the history of one of the rulers of the Kingdom. Riyadh Al-Abdul Kareem, Assistant Director General of the King Khaled Foundation and Supervisor General of the exhibition, said 12,000 people have visited the exhibition so far. Saturday, Monday and Wednesday are for male students and Sunday and Tuesday are allocated for female students, he said.
