passport) for Filipinos will finally be introduced for the first time on a limited basis during the “Embassy on Wheels” campaign, the platform for providing consular and passport renewal services for Filipinos, today and tomorrow at the International Philippine School in Al-Khobar (IPSA). The Philippine government has been issuing e-passports since the middle of this year and will eventually phase out the machine readable passport (MRP). The Philippine embassy in Riyadh announced that during the two-day “Embassy on Wheels” campaign, 320 MRPs and 200 e-passports will be issued. E-passport applicants are required to appear personally before consular officials and have their photos, signatures and fingerprints taken. There is no need for them to bring photos. The charge for passport renewal is SR240. Passport applicants are urged to arrive early at the IPSA to register and meet the required quota of applicants to be processed.
