Shehri, the wife of Sa'eed Al-Shehri, a leader of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, is living in difficult conditions in Yemen, her mother said Monday in a telephone conversation with Okaz/Saudi Gazette. According to her mother, Wafa Al-Shehri said in a brief telephone call on the eve of Eid Al-Fitr, before the line was cut off, that an AQAP terrorist cell is holding her and her three children against their will in the country the terrorist organization is using as a launching pad for criminal acts. Sa'eed Al-Shehri was first named by security authorities on the 2005 Ministry of Interior list of 36 persons wanted in connection with terrorism. Reports have indicated that he was recently killed in Afghanistan, but Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki, security spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said there is no information confirming his death. Wafa's mother said she also received a phone call on Eid Al-Fitr eve from her grandson, Abdulilah Mustafa Al-Shehri, who is on a list of 85 wanted terrorists. She said he asked about her health and condition.
