JEDDAH: Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA) announced Sunday it will take delivery of its first Airbus321 aircraft at the German city of Hamburg on Friday. The awaited plane is one of 15 aircraft of the same kind that the company has planned to add to its fleet. The company is updating its fleet with 82 new aircraft of both Boeing and Airbus to help the national carrier increase its flights on domestic, regional and international routes. SAA Assistant Director General for Public Relation, Abdullah Al-Ajhar noted that the new airplane has 20 seats on its business class and 145 seats on its economy-class. “With the recent planes we have received, the new aircraft will add to the company's capability to make seats available to meet our operational and marketing demands,” Al-Ajhar said. He added that Airbus321 is considered to be one of the best aircraft worldwide and is in high demand by all air transport companies. “Its operational efficiency along with tranquility and environment-friendly specifications give the aircraft the priority in terms of economic returns and distinguished passengers services. Moreover, the latest CFM engine makes the plane one of the most proficient air jets,” he added. Commenting on the plane's specifications, Al-Ajhar said the new aircraft has very advanced control systems and was designed to have big space for luggage, in keeping with the international airplane industry standards. “Moreover, its seats, which are equipped with the most modern audio and video programs, provide high levels of comfort for passengers,” he added.
