JEDDAH: A total of 500 jobs have been created for young Saudis by the Al-Majal Group for security and guards as part of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (JCCI) career pathway program. Adnan Mandoura, the acting secretary general of the JCCI, attended the closing ceremony of the training program Wednesday Oct. 6. Mandoura said it was important for other JCCI sector committees to carry out the same program in their industries. “It is very important for those companies taking part in the career pathways to benefit from the Human Resources Fund. The fund bears all the training expenditure, the trainees' allowances and 50 percent of the employees' salaries for two years,” said Mandoura. Abdul Wahab Al-Moa'ayad, the vice executive manager of human resources in the Al-Majal Group, said Saudization is an important priority of his company. “There will be different career pathways in Riyadh and the Eastern Province in the upcoming months” he said. At the end of the ceremony, Al-Moa'ayad received awards for his company's initiative from the JCCI's secretary general and from Dr. Mutlaq Al-Hazmi the executive manager of the Saudization department of the JCCI. The career pathways initiative comprises partnerships with community colleges, primary and secondary schools, workforce and economic development agencies, employers, labor groups and social service providers.
