Artistic, Ramos and Perez shine
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 05 - 06 - 2008

In the 13th week of action at FEDBG-FMBL 6th Conference, Artistic Bowlers trounced Fireball Team 18-2 here.
Artistic Bowlers sparked 2,930 overall output with Sameer Shabibi scoring 223 and Hesham Jamal 211 scratch. In Game 2, Fireball leveled Artistic Bowlers by taking 2 points and missing only 1 pin for break even or 955-954 result. But the Artistic then gave it its all and never looked back in last game that ended in an 18-2 card in its favor. Jamal and Edna Domingo were on top for the Adnan Althiga team, while Vic Bantay did most of the defense for Fireball. The Artistics' success was recognized with Team of the Week honor and will be converted into a free meal by City Restaurant of Ms. Elly Sy.
Nurissa Ramos proved herself again by turning her games into Kanny powder milk with her Female Bowler of the Week performance. Ramos' 607 helped Saudia Prime Lane Armors (Solid) overpower The Champ-Poy 18-2. Not to be outdone, Melvin Lising sparkled with every game and scored 223 and 211 points in Games 2 and 3 to initiate the rally that put The Champ-Poy in deep trouble even with Rommel Marasigan's total series of 656.
Shawly Bowlers subdued Waraynon Habagat 14-6. The exciting race was dominated by Shawly's Ruel Perez with scores of 236, 240 and 203. The effort won Perez the Male Bowler of the Week award along with Kanny powder milk, courtesy of Nesma. The tandem of Leo Lopez and Cloyd Opena submitted series of 1,152. Lopez's 185, 191 and 200 and Opena's 172, 169 and 235 guaranteed victory for Arnel Bautista team. Dennis Durens of Habagat soundly responded to the Shawly charge but the sole struggle ended in vain.
Micah's Pride B2B stretched its winning streak by limiting BCIF to only 2 of the 20 points at stake. Arnold Santoc and Ed Cordova delivered the deciding blows with scores of 562 and 557, respectively.
In another match Golden Saba beat Luvenor-2 11-9. __
