JEDDAH: Islamic Development Bank Group President Dr. Ahmad Mohammad Ali is attending the 26th Session of the OIC Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) which kicked off in Istanbul, Turkey, Monday and ends Thursday. The meeting, which is also graced by Turkey President Abdullah Gul's presence, is a high-profile gathering being attended by the economic and finance ministers of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) member-states to consolidate economic and commercial bonds among its member countries and to open the floor for discussion on a number of topics in socio-economic development, economic relations and cooperation among the COMCEC members, particularly in the field of agriculture and rural development. In addition, the IDBG president is expected to participate in the 14th International Business Forum (IBF) Congress which also organizes the 13th Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) Fair from Oct. 6-10, the IDBG said in a statement. On Wednesday, he was conferred an honorary membership by the the Association of National Development Finance Institutions in the member countries of the Islamic Development Bank.
