More than 7 million narcotic pills, 10 kg of hashish and 25,000 bottles of liquor were seized last month. The drugs and liquor were seized at different air, sea and land checkpoints. Custom officials have lauded the cooperation their agency is getting from the anti-narcotic agency. They said they were able to seize the contrabands only with an active help from anti-narcotic personnel. The anti-narcotic squad in cooperation with the Frontier Guards have also succeeded in thwarting an attempt to smuggle in 816,100 drug pills last week, Okaz reported on Wednesday. Major Ibrahim Abu Halail, spokesman of the Anti-Narcotic Administration said acting on a tip-off in Hafr Al-Batin, the agency cracked down on the smugglers gang and arrested all its members. Captain Al-Halail said the anti–narcotic police in Tabuk, Makkah, Madina, Eastern Province, Asir, Northern Borders and Taif have arrested a number of drug traffickers and peddlers in the past two weeks. He said arrests and seizure of 254,735 narcotic pills were done in cooperation with customs inspectors. __
