The anti-narcotic squad in cooperation with the Frontier Guards have also succeeded in thwarting an attempt to smuggle in 816,100 drug pills last week, Okaz reported on Wednesday. Major Ibrahim Abu Halail, spokesman of the Anti-Narcotic Administration said acting on a tip-off in Hafr Al-Batin, the agency cracked down on the smugglers gang and arrested all its members. Captain Al-Halail said the anti–narcotic police in Tabuk, Makkah, Madina, Eastern Province, Asir, Northern Borders and Taif have arrested a number of drug traffickers and peddlers in the past two weeks. He said arrests and seizure of 254,735 narcotic pills were done in cooperation with customs inspectors. __
