The girl obtained a court ruling to divorce her from her husband. But the Cassation Court, which reviews rulings from general courts, rejected the ruling and referred the case to the General Court again for reconsidering the divorce ruling. The Cassation Court requested renewed attempts at reconciliation. But the girl declined and insisted on finishing off the marriage contract. The woman married the old man, with her father acting as her guardian, for a big dowry of SR130,000. She said her father forced her to marry the old man. For six years, she has been deprived of her marital rights. The girl also mentioned that her husband forced her to have surgery claiming that she had a congenital defect.
